Up, up and away!

And so begineth the blog....

It all started with an action-packed week of finishing my job amidst a few minor quakes, packing my things into carefully arranged boxes (ensuring trip items were not also carefully stashed), filling my car to well beyond advisable capacity, and getting myself to Dunedin. A few minor eeks were issued as I realised my essential items were not, no matter how they were tesselated, going to fit into my backpack, so a differently shaped device was sought. Only slightly overweight, I squeezed myself and my bags onto the plane to Hong Kong, and after a near-death experience with a broken air-conditioning system and more people on the plane than there were seats for on the last leg of the journey....I made it to London! I then survived a train and the tube with my extra 30kg of mass to make it to Aunty B's by 7.30am the next day.

I have decided to escape the shakes in Christchurch, and instead shake it up around Latin America, beginning with a brief jaunt to the U.K. to visit family and friends I should have seen more of lately. My adventures will be contained within the following blog posts - however, if there is a gap, it's either the dodgy internet access, I've been kidnapped and held to ransom, or I'm just having far too much fun to write!

My itinerary contains far-flung places such as Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Belize, Honduras, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, as well as London, Leeds, Morpeth... so there'll be something for everyone... stay tuned!
